I am such a scatterbrain sometimes!  Just wanted to quickly post on here that as much as I adore this blog, I’ve moved back home to www.nicolefinlayson.typepad.com
It’s much easier to manage there :)

See you soon! Nic x

Home :)

July 26, 2009

I’m back from the Melbourne Quilt and Craft Fair.  What a fabulously full on few days!

I will blog properly but for all the people looking for the online albums from the show samples, they will be up very soon!

But for now.  Sleep and snuggles :)

Leesa: Hi Nic, I know your super busy, but if you ever get time I left you some love on my blog!

Two more sleeps….

July 20, 2009

….until the Melbourne Quilt and Craft Fair.  Well it doesn’t actually start until Thursday but we’ll be there setting up from Wednesday.  Another Nic and Suz adventure! on our home turf this time - should be ace!  Have to leave the family again which is bittersweet. Love getting away.  Miss them like mad!

Here’s a peek at one of our kits for sale at the show.  A sunny scrummy card kit!

cards01

Our weekend was lovely and sunny and relaxed.  Mostly.  Pretty much looked like this -

blog0001

Saturday was a bit crazy.  I had a photo shoot about an hour away and it was fabulous!  Four adult sisters and their Mum altogether for their Mum’s birthday party.  They’d had a few wines.  Did them good I reckon!

Went to a friend’s birthday Saturday night.  I didn’t last long - way tired after the shoot but that was okay ;)  So Sunday I FINALLY caught up on all of our laundry.  All TWELVE loads of it, and don’t even ask how many hours I ironed for!  All done now though and I can relax a little knowing that Nath and the kids won’t be naked while I’m away this week :) Nath spent the day cooking with the kids.  They baked HEAPS of stuff.  Yummy stuff.  Too freakin’ yummy just quietly….  I love windy sunny days at home when you change the beds and the sheets all smell sun-dried and delish! Yesterday was one of those days….

I have a project in the latest Scrapbook Creations magazine for the sports theme and here it is…

blog0003

I was so happy to collaborate a good collection of Alexander’s memorabilia for this project.  It’s nice to just have it altogether!

And before I forget, I want to remind you about the Colours and Words challenge over at the Aussie Scrap Source blog.  You have until next Wednesday to create a layout around the word “Believe” using this colour palette -

week07-believe

This one was one of my challenges.  I love how my layout turned out using these colours.  It started me off on a whole new colour journey, I’ve been using yellow heaps lately.  I’ve always liked it and used it quite a bit but often just forgot about it.  Anyway this challenge re-inspired me.  It’s worth you entering because the prize packs are awesome!

That’s about it for me now….if you’re at the show PLEASE don’t be shy, come and say hello.  I’m on the Budget Scrapbooking stand - F26? I think it is.  Just look for our little blue piggy…

piggyBefore I go, I want to share these cute pics I took this morning.  Our baby Matilda is growing and growing and both kids ADORE her.  She’s been so good for all of us, such a placid, gorgeous cat, check out how she sits with Maddy while she plays her DS.  The kids think she’s the coolest cat ever since she’s “into” Nintendo DS - lololol!

blog0002

Have a good week all - and come and say HELLO!

Nic :)

tan: Love our natural home piccies, gorgeous x

cindy: will be there on Saturday Jen and I are looking forward to it..you are going to be the hit of the show..

Madeleine I mean.  yep my baby girl turned seven yesterday.  Another bittersweet milestone.  And she still has no front teeth!  And she couldn’t have been more excited.

blog1

We bestowed upon her the much coveted pink Razor scooter.  I’d love to show you photos but little treasure decided that scooter pics were not allowed.  Tomorrow I’m going to pretend I DON’T want to photograph her scooter and see if reverse psychology might work.  I doubt it though, I’m sure that with the turning of seven, she got a whole lot smarter.  There’s not much easy fooling of either of my offspring anymore, they’re onto me.  A sad day for me.  Inevitable for all parents I suspect.

We held the obligatory tea party in Miss M’s honour and much to my surprise, she only wanted two little friends.  She could have had more but she decided she’d just like her friends Summer and Jordain.  I haven’t put pics of them here because I haven’t checked with their Mums but here’s a few of the party pics “sans” Jordain and Summer…

blog2

Her cake was decorated under strict supervision as apparently if she didn’t check, I might make it wrong!  Hmm….it had to have a path, a fairy, sprinkles and flowers made from lollipops plus seven candles….well she liked it.  I thought it was a bit crazy but it was all about the birthday girl so requests were fulfilled of course….

blog3

Our holidays have been lovely and quiet really.  We haven’t done a whole lot so far and that’s been at the children’s request as well as mine.  It’s been freezing and often wet and they’ve been content to hang out at home drawing, playing Lego, watching movies, riding their scooters and I think more than anything, they’ve both loved playing with our kitten Matilda who is about to turn eight months old and she is getting BIG!  Hard to remember what a tiny kitten she was and she is adored by Alex and Maddy.  They look after her like a queen and she is just gorgeous and patient with them, often following them around or sleeping on their feet while they sleep.

m7birthday_023_resize

m7birthday_008

Amongst the holiday activity (or lack of) I’ve still been working whenever the kids are busy on their own.  Editing photos, scrapping etc and it’s been very busy.  But busy is good.  Right? Of course it is.  Above in my photo show you’ll see wedding pics from my last wedding shoot and the most stunning looking teenage sisters - beautiful.  I’m still working on those!

You may be one of the people waiting patiently for an email from me, or watching the website to find out about or shop with Budget Scrapbooking and wondering why it’s not live yet and I’m going to answer you right here, right now, but I WILL get back to everyone who has emailed!  Soon.  The short (I hope) answer is that we’ve been held up by a few unforeseen circumstances.  Basically the way things started has ended and Suz and I are now flying solo.  Yes we’re partners.  After years of being scrappy gal-pals we’re now in business together and I can tell you I enter into this with as much anxiety as excitement!  I want to scream it out loud yet I’m wishing on every lucky charm I have that it will be successful for us.  I’m pretty sure it will be a great thing mostly because it’s a concept I BELIEVE in and I know we’re capable of seeing it through.  Plus I get to work more from home, save getting a “real” job plus I get to jet-set around the country and call it ‘work’.

We still have a little red tape to get through and software issues so if you continue to be patient I promise we’ll announce the grand opening soon.  And to be honest I can’t wait!

Speaking of scrapping, I haven’t been doing much for the last few weeks - too much photo editing to do, but here’s what I’ve been doing for Aussie Scrap Source

Here’s some bits I did for my favourite CHA release.  Felt.  I never get tired of the stuff - yummy textured, coloured, squishy fluffy felt!

blog5

These of course, are the felties by Sassafrass Lass - YUM!

New and not-so-new felt from Queen and Company - blog6

And this little notebook and envelope.

blog7

The envelope houses this teeny little mini album.  The Sassafrass Lass Paper Whimsies were SO gorgeous I couldn’t resist making this…

chapost_nicf_felt09

This one for the competition going on over at the Aussie blog right now - this one was for the week that featured the word “know” and the selected colour combination.  If you haven’t entered you should check it - it was great to have the limited colour palette!

blog8

One to showcase the gorgeous Teresa Collins Designs new “Family” line….

blog9

And lucky last - Rose Moka “Diva”

blog10

Phew - that’s it for now I think!  I’ll share my stuff for Budget Scrapbooking soon :)

I had a fabulous night swapping and cropping with Cindy and the girls.  I made a few $$$ selling off unwanted bits in my stash - mainly older papers I’d been hoarding but I know I’ll never use! Mind you, the $$ I made, I spent again on more stuff for my stash!  So everyone was happy :)

Ooo I’m feeling grumpy.  I am totally having one of THOSE weeks where everything is sent to challenge me!

Last week Alexander twisted his ankle at school and sprained it and ended up on crutches.  Yes not long after me!  They LAUGHED at the pharmacy  when I went to hire them!

Of course though, Mum and a physio know nothing and apparently he didn’t need to take them to school.  Wrong! He ended up hurting it more and had to stay on the crutches all week and the whole weekend as well! So he was home a day last week which threw my work routine out the window but I recovered.

I worked on client photos for most of the weekend so I could stay near the babies and figured I’d finish my mag scrapping stuff frantically this week before holidays but again WRONG!  Maddy woke up Monday morning vomiting and was sick all day yesterday AND still not 100% today and Alex got the gastro too and stayed home today.  Again.  Yep my boy had gastro AGAIN!

This was all amongst Nathan and I having heavy head colds last week and over the weekend!

Damn you germs!

So I have to admit I’m cranky.  I have lost two days this week.  I feel bad for my sick babies but they still managed to fight - grr…and don’t even get me started on anything else right now….

And if I owe you an email or a phone call, please accept my apologies right here and know I am getting to it :)

I need to go back here.  Badly.  NOW.

untitled-1

I was hoping to get back before the school holidays but as they’re in a few days and I have tonnes to do it’s not going to happen. :(  It’s okay though I still have a couple of months and I’m positive I’m back in the city before then. I really just want to shift my bed into the gallery and wake up amongst it all every morning.  Just for a little while.  I just want them all to myself.  Again just for a little while.  Okay I want “3.00 Collins Street” to be mine all mine forever!

Clearly deliriously tired now - I better push off and see what delights will be sent to challenge me tomorrow!

:P

liz: i soooo know how you are feeling,i have spent the past three days in bed unable to move, the days are so waisted, the only thing i guess is that we all have our stuff and everynight we need to be gratefull for the great things in our life that, helps me get through,i do hope things get better soon,i am sending you some positive energy i think you need. love liz

Moi: Just seeing if your site is open yet! I can't wait to order a kit and do a gorgeous Nic and/or Suz page (2 of my fave scrappers in the one kit!).

How soon is now?

June 22, 2009

I’ve been trying to get in here to blog for weeks but each time I start I get distracted and somehow never make it back.

Thanks for the emails checking up on my whereabouts.  I forget that not everyone uses Twitter or Facebook.  I update those regularly because I can get away with one line…

In short I’ve been busy.  I’m so tired of saying I am busy so I’ll leave it there.  2009 is turning out to be a full year for me and I’m still searching for the exact right balance and really don’t think I’ll ever find it! It’s all great though!

The wonderfully exciting part about it all though is that I love a good adventure and I am just recently back from the afore-mentioned excellent adventure with my partner-in-crime Suz

We launched a brand new company at the Brisbane Scrapbooking Convention, a company that aims to provide top quality, low priced scrapbooking products to consumers.  We have designed kits that make creating a breeze and we brought bargains galore to Brisbane.

brissy21_resize

The site is not quite ready yet so if you go there, you will see we are under construction but I can promise you there’s lots of work going on behind the scenes to ensure it’s worth the wait!

We had a huge stall which was pretty much three people deep the whole time and was beyond anything that Suz or I could have anticipated - SO busy!

brissy19_resize

I was shocked and excited to see crowds like this every morning queuing to get in to the Expo…

brissy30_resize

But it was fabulous to be busy and know we didn’t work so hard in vain.  I don’t think I have EVER worked so hard before and I have worked as a labourer!  I can’t express how exhausted we were at the end of each day, it was mind-boggling and exhilarating and like I said - an ADVENTURE!

I missed my man and my babies terribly but loved the freedom of being away.  I loved the anticipation of going to a city that I’ve never been to before and squeaked seeing the Sydney Harbour Bridge from the plane on the way.  In fact I loved the plane ride/s…..:)

brisblog01

I know it was obvious that I hadn’t seen these sights before and I didn’t care!  It was all new to me and uber-cool!

brisblog02

We were very spoiled flying up Business Class and stopping in Sydney on the way for about half an hour if that!  But we were there….

brisblog031

So, anyway back to the Expo, here’s a few more photos….

brisblog04

All of the above shots were taken at our booth and looking out on setting up day as well.  Setting up took us 12 hours!  It was an enormous learning curve and we were sooo tired we collapsed on the beds in our motel room whining about how tired we were!

Brisbane is a beautiful city - so clean and fresh and felt really safe even at night.  It’s also weird because everything closes so early!  We were starving on our last night there at 10pm having packed up everything and NOTHING was open except for the casino.  That is bizarre!

And while I adored Brisbane it was HOT! Holy cow, coming from the foot of a snowed-on mountain to Brisbane was awful at first.  The tropical heat was oppressive -I’m not good with humidity and it’s not just the high maintenance hair issues it causes me, it’s the wetness of it all - yuck!  We were sweaty and foul!  Having said that though I found it amusing that we went out at night in t-shirts while locals were rugged up.  I had started to acclimatise by the last couple of days and we left 25 degrees in Brisbane to arrive in TEN degrees in Melbourne.  And loving it!  After another week of freezing temps here though, I could use a little Queensland heat again!   The mornings there are DIVINE! So gorgeous…

My favourite bits of our trip were all of the customers that kept us crazy-busy, hanging out with my gal-pal Suz and finally meeting so many people I “know” online in the flesh and as I suspected with my faves, it was like I’d known them in real life for years!

brisblog05

Clockwise is me with the most gorgeous Shelly.  We’ve been friends online and on the phone for years and it was quite surreal to actually see her and hug her and be in the same photo!  I only wish I’d had longer to catch up with her, there was no way enough time for a proper chat but I was happy with what I got!

Next in the circle is my illustrator mate Jimmy Trinket, again whom I have known online and through the post for AGES!  I have his monster pics in the Simply Said gallery and I never get tired of looking at his way cool drawings….I’m sure in another lifetime we’d have been besties! So glad he came to visit me :)

And last there but certainly not least is the crazy-beautiful Scrapbooking Memories MASTER Lynette van Barrelo. She friended me on Facebook and keeps me constantly entertained with her fabulous posts and wickedly funny comments.  I also got to meet my scrapping idol Loretta Grayson and FINALLY meet Petrina McDonald whom I definitely didn’t get enough time with!  Also met lots of other gorgeous people but I’ve pathetically name-dropped enough surely…..

No trip away could be complete without a night on the town so Suz and I met up with some friends of mine for dinner, who then had to leave early to attend to sick kids so we did a little cocktail tour of Brisbane South….

brisblog06

I wish mobile phones had better cameras but love those pics - lol!  We HAD to go on the ferris wheel in the rain and full of margeritas!  AND we had to do this -

wheel_resize

We weren’t even on the thing, this shot was taken BEFORE - lol….quality….:)

I’ve been flat out with photography stuff, most recently a shoot for Zeve, a fashion label growing and growing.  They thought it time to update their images and I was commissioned to do it.  Think I was nervous much?  Loved doing the shoot and they’re happy and I hope they sell heaps now!

blogzeve

I’ve done a few other shoots recently but it’s almost 1am and I need to go to bed.  I have scrapping to share and more photos but I will end here for now. Thanks for your patience and checking in on me :)

liz: Looks like sooo much positive energy around you at the moment,i love the new kits, take care, Liz

Moi: Well I worked out your site from the previous photo (I had to squint and make a couple of attempts before I worked LOL) ... anyway it looks fabulous and I can't wait for the launch! Best wishes with that. Good to see you having a good time in Brissie. If you're ever this way would love to see you. xx

nicfinno: Thanks girls :)

Lynette van Barrelo: Hey! I came on here to stalk and totally got jolted out of hiding when I saw that pic of us!!! haaaah! Wish we had more time together! Come back to Brissie!

Petrina McDonald: ha! You big name-dropper LOL!!! next time matey, next time :)

We’re off to Brisbane today!  I’m going to miss my babies SO much….Alex turns ten while I’m away and I feel guilty yet he’s okay about about it.  What’s with that?!  In fact I’m feeling kind of sick at missing my morning snuggles but I know they’ll be fine and I will be once I get going I guess…

We’ve been working madly for the last few weeks preparing everything for the launch of our new venture, and I’ve been a total hermit during the process!  It’s okay though, I have ace friends who “get” it! Thanks guys :)

So if you’re at the Expo this weekend, please come and say hello to us.

nic_suz

I’m sure you will love what we have to offer - the stock that is - lol…we’re on Booth number 50, right near the cafe (yay us) and we’ll be sharing space with our new friend…

pig-web

See you there!!!  Or when I get back next week with photos a-plenty! I’m so looking forward to meeting many of you I “know” on-line but haven’t met face to face - yay!

:D

cindy: Suz and you are going to have a fantastic time they will live you new project.

Lou: What's the adventure?????????????????????

Tina: Hello there ! I saw you at the expo and bought some of your paper packs OMG what a value for the money!!! Ive been checking out your website everyday but I can see its still under construction !! cant wait for it to open ILl be there in a flash !!! xxx Tina

More adventures….

June 1, 2009

WELL!  I shot my first wedding alone yesterday!  Aside from having lots of butterflies in my tummy, all went well.  Most gorgeous couple ever, three adorable babies, small crowd - I love how they did it their way!  It was perfect!

Their ceremony and reception were at the gorgeous Melbourne Town Hall right in the heart of the city on Swanston Street.  Again, perfect.  With my Brisbane trip only three sleeps away and still much preparation to do for the Expo I’ve not had much time to have a good look BUT during our photo session, the Indian student protest came past.  I HAD to capture this, it’s so unique and I can honestly say that ALL parties involved were fabulous about it!

img_5530_resize

Coolest couple and bridal party ever!  Very limited time but all good :)  Can’t wait to do my next wedding now!

And a couple of projects………SEI Lovebirds

seilovebirdsnicf01

Righto, back to work for me….can’t wait to meet all of you fabulous people who have contacted me so far!  Iit’s going to be one crazy, busy, fabulous week I can tell you!!!  Yay!

naomi: hi sweetness im baaaaack did u miss me :) Love Na xxx

Moi: I have been highly absent from Facebook but I love popping in here. Just catching up on the last week or so and am very excited about your project with Suz. Wonderful, talented you along with Suz who is also one of my most favourite scrappers. I can't wait!

Moi: Two things I forgot to mention: 1) how is your knee? and 2) that photo is just sensational!

Loretta: Love the photo with the protestors in the background - perfect! Gorgeous layouts, too. Can't wait to see what you and Suz are up to - will come and say hello on Saturday :) Rett

Jaimie: this wedding shot is fabulous! gorgeous Nic.

OH MY GOODNESS!

I’ve been having some adventures over the last couple of weeks.  not much time to blog the details right now  but I want to share the main reason that I’ve been blog-absent with you!

Something to do with this -

boxes

and with my gorgeous scrappy gal-pal Suz.  In short we’re helping launch a new concept in scrapbooking (thanks Suz stolen from your blog).  I’m SO excited to take part in this idea because it solves some issues that I have felt needed addressing in the industry for a while now.  It will fill a niche that I believe has been over-looked.

I can’t share much else right now because we’re working madly setting things up to be perfect for our launch which will be at the Australasian Scrapbook and Papercraft Convention in Brisbane next weekend.  YES one week or so away!  I can tell you I still have masses to do before then which is normal for me really….

We’ve been jetsetting here and there including my first ever plane trip - lol!  YES my first time……..first flight was not my most favourite life-moment - poor Suz - lol, actually I’m glad she was there telling me everything was normal……..but I really enjoyed it coming back and looking forward to heading up to Brisbane next week.

Soooo……..if you’re at the Expo, come and say hi, I’d we’d love to meet you.

Okay more details soon………:D

Tam: Um, that's just cruel, Nic. You are such a tease ;) Can't wait to see what your innovative, niche-filling invention is!

Shelly: Hi Nic-I am so EXCITED!!!!!I am going to the convention- I get to meet youIRL!!!!aaaaaaargh- you have made my night-cannot wait.....mwah!!!xoxox

Petrina McDonald: Oh how exciting! I read about this on Suz's blog and my mind is racing wondering what you two are up to! It will be very cool no doubt. See you next Saturday!!! P.

I’m off my crutches thank goodness!  Still in ridiculous pain mind you but I’ve just had to suck it up and get on with things.  I admit though, I am OVER it!  Photo shoots are the pits with a bung knee.  I still can’t kneel and it’s been hard to chase littlies with a bung knee when I really like to get on the floor with them.  But nevermind, things will heal whether I whine or not.

I’m still disappointed about no yoga but I guess next term will be here before I know it and I’ll be back into it pain free from my silly knee I think.

Pretty sure I’m giving the roller derby idea the flick though.  Bitterly disappointed but I was thinking that this has been a relatively small injury and it’s impacting on my photography work.  Imagine if I had a broken bone!  I’d lose the business I’ve been working at - grr, not worth it! :(

Been getting lots of bookings, some sessions I can’t show you because the client/s have requested I keep their photos private and not posted online.  That’s cool with me.  While I’d love to show them off, in this day and age of cyber-crime you nevr know who’s watching…I’m just ectstatic about all the bookings!  I have my first wedding in a couple of weeks.

Speaking of the next few weeks, I’m working on something very exciting right now.  Something that has been keeping me so busy I can’t get up to anything else!  But it’s a good thing - yay!  More on that later….

After I was off the crutches Alex went off to camp for two nights.  Oh my goodness I had NEVER been out of contact with him for that long  before.  Away from yes, but always in phone contact at least.  He had a great time but was a bit sick on the final night.  Teachers put it down to exhaustion and he got better.

Thursday morning he was home and woke up crying with a sore throat so I kept him home.  Maddy had a sore tummy so we all stayed home.  By lunchtime Maddy was in her fairy dress dancing and Alex was screaming with tummy pain.  I couldn’t get him a doctor appointment ANYWHERE! Not even in the surrounding towns.  I could sit and wait after 3pm - what the?  Something just didn’t ‘feel’ right with him so I took him to the emergency department at the hospital where he started vomiting.  Normally I’d tell myself not to over react and to not bother the hospital but my gut feeling, my maternal instinct I guess said it wasn’t right.

He was taken good care of, tested for anything and everything poor baby stuck with needles, given medicine etc to stop him vomiting and nothing worked.  And I had Maddy there bored silly as well.  Luckily my Mum was able to pick her up and my sister looked after her too.

There’s something enormously humbling about having a really sick child in a hospital.  It’s a tough thing to have to hand complete control of your baby’s welfare over to total strangers and hope that they know what they’re doing.  Nothing stopped him vomiting, he just kept getting sicker and paler and quieter.  And it was horrible.

Finally the diagnosis was a type of gastro and he was put on IV fluids and had to stay overnight.  He looked so little and I felt so helpless.

alex-hospital-1 Excuse the terrible photo, I took it with my phone.  We were allowed to stay with him overnight but Nath had to work and Maddy had  to be cared for so he stayed on his own but he was totally cool with that.  Brave anyway :)  Happy also to score the new Emily Rodda book that he’d been wanting so he had something to do…

Poor love a week on and he says his arm still hurts from the drip.

He was giving me cheek on the Friday though so I knew he was okay and after a sleep at the hospital, he woke up telling me he was hanging out for that “caramel slice you make mum” and I promised him I’d make him one.

Then the school rang.  Maddy had a pain in the tummy…..oh no….but she seemed okay unlike her brother….

So last weekend it was raining and I was yet to completely catch up on the washing from Alex at camp and in hospital and being sick and me being at the hospital with him but that was okay because I could do it Saturday.

Until I started to vomit.  Ugh…pains in my tummy, sleepy, yucky, horrid sicky Mum.  Feeling way better by that night though.  Kind of. And far less sick than my boy :D

Mother’s Day Sunday I figured I’d better catch up on the mountain of washing accumulated by now.  Barely a towel left in the house let alone anything else, and while I knew I got to rest on Mother’s Day I figured it was no big deal to do some laundry. Maddy had done all the Mother’s Day stall shopping due to Alex being in hospital and she had burst and insisted on giving me my pressies early.  I received a compact mirror in a little faux-leather pouch - so cute.  Seems there was motive to the gift though because apparently Madeleine had been eying off the mirror I already carry in my bag and she thought if she gave me a new one that I might give her my special one that opens up.  Of course I did ;) I also received a metal bookmark with a pretty butterfly on it - cute, and it came with a hanky but according to Madeline it was a “grandma” hanky and no good for her Mum - lol!

I was waking up looking forward to the good-morning-mother’s-day cuddles etc until our kitten Matilda peed on our bed.  YES she did a big wee all over and THROUGH our alpaca wool  doona! WHAT THE?  That has NEVER happened.  Ever.  Until now, until the Mother’s Day where it poured rain and I had no towels or  linen left due to the backlog of washing caused by my series of unfortunate events.

Sigh. Happy Mother’s Day to me.  Hmm………spent all day washing and trying to get my dry-clean only doona dry.  I handwashed it madly.  Spun it in the machine.  It was great!

Dinner at my Mum’s with my sisters.  Interesting.

Tuesday night - basketball.  I try a new recipe from a magazine, I’ll share if I remember another post.  Tomato Ravioli Soup.  Yum.  I madly cook it, and I despise cooking so it’s a reluctant chore on my behalf.  Almost ready to go watch Alex play, super organised, get my favourite retro Pyrex dish with the snowflakes on it and I DROP THE LID! And shards of glass go everywhere beside the soup pan.  Everything has to go in the bin…waaaahhh :( Sad much?  Hmmm…………Maccas drive-through after basketball.

Wednesday morning rush before school.  Do an extra check around kitchen for any glass that may have been missed - all good.  In my pj’s running around madly, something stings my bare foot.  It’s GLASS!  Aimg_4409psnd could it be in the same foot that matches my bung knee?  NO OF COURSE NOT! So I’m doing the double-limp and quadruple curse - blah!

But that seems to have passed now thankfully as there’s good luck in the air for me now I think.  I’ve scored some sensational photo jobs including a couple of commercial jobs and a huge one as well, the previously mentioned  top-secret project and spent a lovely morning at the newly owned Scrapper’s Warehouse.  Lots of delicious enthusiasm from the new owners, products galore and amazing plans! Definitely worth checking out online OR in person :D  I even got to go out for lunch with scrappy gal-pals Cindy and Suz - woohoo!

And….I have a new ‘do’.  Well not that new, just a tad darker :)

I’ve had the red for ages and ages, just decided to take the plunge and go for a change.  A change is as good as a holiday right?  I have to say I’m lovin’ it sick! lol….think I’ll stay darker for a while, seems to suit the cold weather.

I have to admit I’m in my pjs and bedsocks right now and really enjoying the dark skies and crazy wind.  Most likely because I still can’t do much with the bung knee BUT I could use some sunlight, missing it already.  Enjoying the electric blanket and snuggle time though.  Been thinking I must finish our pyjama quilt I started last year.  It will have to wait though until this mad phase passes…

I have some scrapping to share too, all for Aussie Scrap Source.  So much yummy new stuff filtering in from CHA - mm mm mmmmmmm!

Okay Crate Paper - yummy yummy colours and texture :)

A scraplift of the legendary Jenni Bowlin.  Yes we are advocating scraplifting at Aussie Scrap Source.  Go for it - you want to make a layout, it is FINE to start with someone else’s for inspiration.  Just give credit where it’s due and it’s unlikely anyone will get stroppy.  I for one LOVE receiving photos in my email from people who have lifted my work.  It’s the ULTIMATE form of flattery :)

And finally, new Pink Paislee

That’s about all that’s been happening really.  I always ‘mean’ to update more often but admittedly now that I use Twitter and Facebook, the desire to blog is less pressing.  I tend to mini-blog through Twitter which you can follow if you so desire by joining my list here.

Also been hanging out on art sites and photography sites and stuff.  I might finally be finding some of that balance I’ve been seeking for so long.

Stay snuggly………….xx
